Perenco is pleased to announce the completion of deck construction on the Tripod Tum-B3 project. The tripod will be installed on the offshore Turnix Field in Gabon and will allow intervention on a high potential well. The deck, weighing 60 tons, was completed in three months at Acergy?s yard in Port-Gentil, following a six way tender of Africa based suppliers from Morocco, Cameroon, and Gabon.
The Tum-B3 project entails the installation of a 100 tons tripod (two parts of 50 tons each) in water 30m deep, in order to reinforce the existing monopod and the installation of the deck. The deck will be equipped with a 10 tons crane to install work-over equipment. Tubings will be stored inside the deck?s legs.
Next major steps in the project include the loading-out of the tripod, piles and deck on board the ?Jolie Barge? and the Offshore Campaign next October using the installation jack-up vessel ?Seawork 1? and diving supply vessel ?To Independence?.
Perenco?s Gabon Operations manager, Francois Raux, said: ?Today?s announcement is an important milestone in the overall project. The deck was completed on time and cost effectively, and benefited from Perenco?s in-house expertise.?
