The OBA field in Gabon was discovered by Perenco in December 2005 and put on stream in September 2006 with an Early Production Facility. OBA-9, the last of a 4 well appraisal campaign in 2008 was put on production in October and is currently producing approximately 1,000 bopd. Full field development will commence in 2009. Surface facilities will be upgraded, a dedicated power cable will be installed and tied back to the existing Batanga power plant to power the well ESP's and water injection pumps and additional development drilling - both producing wells and water injection wells - will begin Q3 2009. It is anticipated that the field will produce approximately 12 000 bopd in 2010 from the Cap Lopez and Azile Formations. Additional development potential exists in the shallower Milango Formation.
